Working On The Concertina Parts

I made some hexagonal bits that will work with the bellows of the concertina held in the "hands" of the egg doll.

I actually unofficially call the egg dolls "blob dolls,"* not sure why. Maybe I just prefer blobs.

*UPDATED HERE TO SAY: I looked around online and I guess a "blob doll" might already be somebody's official thing. Of course! Why wouldn't it be? We love blobs. Anyway, my "blobby egg doll," I guess, is still in progress.

Not Perfect But Okay

And I had fun.

I'll do something with this 5" square... make it a hot pad, maybe. Good way to practice weaving into stitches, sashiko, whatever.

I'm quite sure the edges are "wrong" but I just wanted to flimflam my way along. I'll go read my embroidery books, now...

I've been appreciating my crocheted hug

I made this blanket yarn "hug" (shawl, wrap) when I started trying out the geometric shapes given in the book Every Way With Granny Crochet by Julia Madill. I didn't really start with a plan -- hadn't meant to need to add that green section to the back.  But it's actually been working out just fine for me, and because these big blanket yarn things are kind of dramatic anyway, the added part doesn't seem wrong.

It's still summer and we run the AC, yes.  Still mostly hot weather. But there are cooler moments here and there, and I've been tossing this hug on and off many times.

That's a wooden bangle bracelet and a plastic crochet hook that I'm using together as a clasp. I got the bangle(s) from a great little shop on Etsy, one that ships from Las Vegas -- the UnderTwentyBoutique by Dawn.
